Re: September 11th, a personal story
I used the Windows on the World gents one morning (which is admittedly a long and drawn out journey just to have an Eartha) and found I could just about detect a faint side to side motion as I completed my business. It was nowhere near a "we are sailing stormy waters" sensation.

I spent 10 minutes reading that whole thing thinking "he's gonna get to the story in a minute"

Not sure what I've just read.

Also, if the twin towers were genuinely swaying more than a boat I reckon you probably weren't in the twin towers.

Re: September 11th, a personal story
That made the most extraordinary news event of our lifetime sound like a compulsory visit to a council care home.

But I hope that you have recovered from the shock of the day. I knew people who died in the buildings that day - I'm sure many of us did.

Awful.

I have to say I laughed at the replies to this.

The original story sounds like it’s a product of firewater and/or Alzheimer’s.

Re: September 11th, a personal story
So the story is that the poster was in the Twin Towers 10 days prior to the planes flying into them. And he also met people who were obviously killed when it happened.

Ok, thanks.

Reads like H P Lovecraft.

If H P Lovecraft was pissed up and had a really shit anecdote about working in data management in 2001.
